WHAT IS THIS PRODUCT?

Cold Dip is a combination of chlorinated hydrocarbons & cresylic acids, combined with wetting, emulsifying & evaporation agents, for the removal of paint from all types of metals & is non-flammable.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Always use Cold Dip at room temperature & in a well ventilated area. Immerse work in solution for required amount of cleaning time, which will vary depending on the amount of  paint to be removed. Rinse with water preferably with pressure.

Combination of Cresylic Acid, Methylene Chloride and Phenols.

Common Questions & Answers

Is a 10% water seal necessary?

Yes, to obtain optimum results a water seal is advisable, as this reduces evaporation, drag-off  & fumes.

Also partial rinsing is obtained as parts are lifted through the water seal.

When the tank level drops, how do I know whether to add water or more product?

1. Simply place a clean wooden stick into the tank. The 2 separate layers will each leave a different colored deposit on the stick.
2. Vigorously agitate the tank, take out a glass container full, and allow sitting for 10 minutes & measuring the relative volumes of product & water.

How will I know when the tank is nearing the end of its useful working life?

1. When the product begins to drop in performance and topping up does not significantly improve matters, the tank has probably reached the end of its life.
2. Correct maintenance of the tank, which includes a regular decanting of the product & cleaning of the sludge in the bottom of the tank, will prolong the life of the tank.

Will the product burn the skin?

Yes, it is advised that gloves & face shield be worn as a product that will remove paint will burn the skin.

Is a water rinse necessary?

Yes, this will neutralize the product & leave you with a clean shiny film free surface. This product contains the latest Chromate type rust preventative, which will guarantee less corrosion & absolutely no flash rusting.

What type of rinsing should I use – Hot or Cold, High or Low pressure?

High pressure rinsing will always be more efficient, as far as temperature is concerned, by using a cold rinse, you will minimize the amount of fumes.
